Courier service/ delivery problem - any advice?

i bought an item in ebay.ph, last week. i send the money, the seller told me she already sent the item thru a courier service, the same day she received the money. but it's been over a week, and it hasn't arrived yet. i've check with the local office, they said it's on it's way. when the seller checked on the original office, they couldn't trace where the package is. so, the question is, what actions could i take? please help. tnx.
