How do you get rid of cradle cap?

My baby is 2 mths old and his head is really dry, he had his 2 mth check up yesterday and what his dr told me to do, i had been doing it.. i don't know if he will grow out of this or if this is something that i have to treat everyday for a while.. my first baby, im still learning... if you have any suggestions please let me know.. thank you do much!!
