You do also have to remember that Hitler tried to warp and change the Christian religion into the Church Of The Reich, which dismissed most of the Christian teachings. I think it is more likely Hitler just used religion as a way of getting people to follow him. "God is on our side!" is a fairly effective rallying call for the religious. I think it's most likely he was weakly Christian, if religious at all. Definitely not devout.
