Does anyone know of some good charities/community service programs I can donate my time/money to?

Each state has a literacy program, and they would welcome your participation in their activities, which includes "family reading" -- encouraging the families of young children to read so that the whole family improves their literacy. Check under "Literacy" in your Untied Way or other clearinghouse office for volutneering.
